Two New Magellan GPS Units Announced

Wize.com has learned today that Magellan has added a bunch of new additions to its Maestro line of GPS units, including three models in the widescreen 4200 series, and four in the lower-end 3200 series. Coming in at the high-end, the $500 Maestro 4250 unit boasts a 4.3-inch widescreen display, along with support for live traffic information, text-to-speech functionality, voice control, and built-in Bluetooth for some handsfree calling.

Nokia, Online Music, Gaming and New Phones

  Wize.com learned this morning that Nokia just announced a wide arrange of new products.  What came as a surprise, was the announcement that in addition to the slick new black cell phones, Nokia launched an online music store and gaming service.  This can only be seen as a move to capture some of Apple's momentum going into the holiday season.

Casio Makes YouTube Videos Easier to Create

This past weekend I spent 2 fun filled days celebrating the anticipation of my friends upcoming wedding, i.e. we had the bachelorette party.  Returning home, I knew the photos we took were great, but how much better would it have been if we had actually captured some of the random incidents in video.  YouTube was calling our names, loudly, and we had let those moments just slip by. 

Today I learned, in the future there might be a new option. Casio has announced two new Exilim digital cameras - the EX-V8 and the EX-Z1080, both of which are "YouTube" friendly.  The "YouTube" mode optimizes content for the online video sharing website. 

Look for these new Casio cameras in stores as well as reviews and ratings on Wize.com this September.

Sony Announces Entry Level HDV Camcorder

Sony announced an entry-level professional HDV camcorder with a shoulder-mount design that will be available just in time for the Holiday season (December).

The HVR-HD1000U model supports both the HDV and the standard-definition DV formats.

Sanyo Provides Sneak Peak of New Waterproof Products

At GITEX 2007, Sanyo revealed it will display a wide arrange of new waterproof products including:

The all-new Xacti VPC-CA65 is the world's first waterproof pocket-sized movie camera; a digital camcorder specifically designed for underwater photography and videography.

The new SANYO 42V Weatherproof LCD Monitor, which was just released is also fully water proof, which can resist at least 65 gallons of water, is an ideal companion for outdoor activities. 

Canon Unveils New Digital Cameras

Canon unveiled several new digital cameras Monday, including a 21.1-megapixel, full-frame model.

From this, Canon is aiming to maintain its top spot in Japan's rapidly growing market for digital single-lens flex (SLF) cameras for the fifth straight year in 2007 through the launch of the 'EOS 40D' and the 'EOS-1Ds Mark III' for amateur users and professionals.
