Dell's Studio notebooks are one colorful bunch with 7 colors to choose from. You can build your own with a choice of options at their Web site. There are choices in screen size (17-inch max), hard drive memory (up to 320GB) and RAM (4GB max).

GPS Digital Camera from Ricoh

When you fit a SE-3 module that provides both position and direction to the Ricoh 500SE camera, it can tell you exactly where you are and record it with your image.

Without the module, images from the 500SE are just points on a map without an indication of which direction the camera is facing.

Ricoh also has two models of the Caplio 500SE, a model W and a model B. You can transfer photo data to PCs and other devices supporting Bluetooth and/or wireless LAN with both models.

You can also connect the Caplio 500SE wirelessly with a Bluetooth compatible GPS device to add location information to your photo data.

The cameras also have an antiblur function and a flash range of 10 meters.

Samsung L100 Reviewed

Infosyncworld.com has come out with a full review of the Samsung L100 camera, which it calls an "8MP camera in a 10MP world."

The camera has a lot going for it. First, it's cheap--only $130. Next, is it has a manual mode (M on the mode dial, but no Av nor Tv setting on the dial). Last, the camera takes good pictures (but not great ones).

The camera has no optical image stabilization.

Other features include: face detection, 3X optical zoom; digital image stabilization (not optical, not as good as optical); in-camera sharpness; contrast and saturation adjustments; exposure bracketing; ISO up to 1600; movie mode.

And, as you can see from the image above, the camera comes in an assortment of colors.

Go Green with CherryPal

Its Web site doesn't tell you much except that a new green machine is coming. CherryPal, the latest in green is a PC that weighs less than a pound.

It hardly has any components and uses flash memory instead of a cumbersome, energy-sucking hard drive. Plus, it doesn't get viruses.

The drawbacks: the machine has only 4GB of flash memory and 512MB of DRAM.

A third-party provides most of the computer resources.

Kindle vs iPhone

What's the Kindle got that the iPhone doesn't? For now it's got (or is) an e-reading application.

Who's to say that someone won't develop an e-reading application on the iPhone, thus making it a tough competitor for Kindle?

That's what's brought to light in a CNET article about the iPhone vs the Kindle.

The writer, Greg Sandoval, points out that some developer might create an e-reading app, or Steve Jobs may already have that up his sleeve and just hasn't let it out yet.

At any rate, the iPhone as it is carries more value for the money than Kindle does. It's cheaper for one.

But who can beat the experience of Kindle's easy-on-the-eyes E ink technology? The iPhone's close with a 3.5-inch high-resolution widescreen.

Another thing the author sneaks into his story...he's been reading books on his Palm Pilot TX.

Amazon, in the long run, won't make money from selling Kindle, but it's sure to by selling all the ebooks that will be read on other devices.
